Our aim is to support the Vicar and PCC in extending the use of St Cuthbert’s, making this treasure house of Victorian art and design better known and more accessible to visitors, and to encourage its use by the local community and as a venue for cultural events.
St Cuthbert’s faces new challenges, and hopefully opportunities, as the Earl’s Court area is transformed by Capital & Counties’ massive redevelopment of the exhibition centre and the adjacent railway lands. We hope that, with the support of the Diocese and funding bodies, the church building can finally acquire the facilities, including a fully equipped kitchen and accessible WCs, that it so badly needs.
From the beginning, the Friends has been run by a small group of people and we badly need new blood – to manage our website, for example, and to assist at events. Please let us know if you would like to be more actively involved. If you have views on what sort of events the Friends should organise, or would like to organise an event, please do be in touch.
Please see the list of events to which all friends of St Cuthbert are welcome to attend.
