Welcome to St Cuthbert's Church

Rising dramatically among the West London terraces of Philbeach Gardens, St Cuthbert’s is a spectacular example of late Victorian church architecture and of the Arts and Crafts movement. In this Grade-I listed church we offer a pattern of daily worship, a friendly community, and a vibrant array of community events.

We are a parish within the Catholic tradition of the Church of England, gathering here for over 150 years to worship, explore our faith, and grow in love for one another and the world around us.  We are ecumenically partnered with the Polish Roman Catholic community of St Wojciech, which also worships in this church.

Wherever you are on your journey in life, we hope that you will be able to visit us soon to experience this house of prayer and encounter the mystery of God’s love in this place.

Fr Paul Bagott

Vicar

  • QUINTIN BEER - Music Director

Quintin has been asked to extend his work at St Peter’s College Oxford, and this will put pressure on him to fulfill his role with us as Music Director. He regrets he will need to resign from his post here, and he will remain with us until Christmas Day. We are very grateful for all his work with us, his considerable talent and his vision for the music at St Cuthbert’s. We will look to recruit for the post in the next few weeks, with the new person hopefully starting in January.

  • Calvary War Memorial

Urgent and significant repairs are needed to preserve this treasured memorial. The total cost of the project is £35,000. Thanks to a generous grant of £18,450 from the War Memorials Trust, we are already more than halfway there – but we still need to raise £16,550. Any amount, large or small, will make a meaningful difference. Together, we can ensure this memorial continues to stand as a beacon of remembrance for future generations.

In gratitude,

Fr Paul.
